It’s been two years since they got married and Nandini hasn’t conceived yet. Prakash isn’t ready for a child and he tries to convince Nandini of the same but she yearns for a child desperately. Despite his mother's opposition, Prakash gives in to Nandini's demands. During the ninth month of her pregnancy, Nandini overhears a conversation between her mother-in-law and Sudam, Prakash’s dear friend. She realises that the family is doomed with a curse. If she gives birth to a son, her husband will die. Nandini requests an abortion from the doctor, but he refuses.
